I love identified photographs. The genealogist in me wants to preserve these images in hopes that someone out there is searching for their surnames. It makes me sad to think of all the people in my collection that have been forgotten, which I suppose is one of the many reasons why I do this.

Elias Roser [b. abt 1860] (CDV): Soland Album
Inscribed on recto: Elias Roser Backmark: Leisenring Bro's, / Photographers, / Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. I found an Elias Roser in the La Harpe, Hancock, Illinois 1880 census. He was working on a farm owned by William Soland (Soland is another surname found in this album.) Elias was born in Switzerland, at the time of the 1880 census he was 20 years old. 4 x 2 1/2 inches CDV from the Soland Album for more pictures. This CDV is now in the posession of Elias Roser's family and is no longer in my collection.
